Starting at 8:00 AM on a Saturday, the orienteering challenge takes students on a navigational adventure across a forest, park, or large school grounds. Teams of 2-4 students use a map and compass to find designated checkpoints scattered throughout the area. The goal is to navigate from one checkpoint to the next as quickly and efficiently as possible. The event encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork, as students must work together to plot the best course and stay on track. Coaches and volunteers are stationed at checkpoints to guide students and ensure safety. The challenge lasts 2-3 hours, with students competing to see who can complete the course in the fastest time.
